Job Description
Collaborates with other team members to prepare patients for surgery in the pre-admission phase and discharge phase. Coordinates the components of the pre-admission program and follow-up interviews as a priority. Consumer satisfaction with positive public relations will be the most important goal of the pre-admission nurse coordinator. In addition, assists the patients in returning to a safe physiological level after an anesthetic by providing safe, knowledgeable, and individualized nursing care in the immediate and Phase 11 recovery room.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing program, BSN preferred.
- Current registration with the Illinois Department of Professional Regulations.
- BLS required.
- ACLS required.
- Two years previous experience in medical/surgical with one year of surgery nursing preferred.
- Prefer SDS experience.
- Maintain current CPR certification.
- Communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Possesses analytical skills/critical thinking and knowledge to analyze test results, identify problems, and take appropriate action.
- Thorough knowledge of general theory and practice and specific knowledge in patient education and recovery room technique.
Hours
- Full Time
- 40 hours per week
- M-F 6:30a-3:00p
