Late in the year 2000, Linda Mobley called for a meeting of citizens interested in forming an organization to assist the hospital with capital projects. In January 2001 a volunteer organization known as the Salem Township Hospital Foundation was formed.
The STH Foundation is an all volunteer group dedicated to assisting the hospital with funds for projects that provide the best health care possible for area residents. The thirteen member Board of Directors are:

Susan Knapp – Secretary/Treasurer
Past projects include:
$450,000 for equipment in new Radiology wing
$ 55,000 new Telemetry System
$ 47,521 furnished Hale Clinic
$ 41,191 Anesthesia Machine
$ 7,000 remodel Conference Room
$ 40,000 remodel Dining Room
$ 43,700 for two new Sterilizers and Life Pacs
$100,000 to furnish New Lobby
$100,000 to furnish new Critical Care Unit
This amounts to $884,412 given for capital
improvements to the hospital so far.
To date the STH Foundation has raised over $1,200,000. Also, $31,500 has been given in scholarships to Kaskaskia College for students in the health care programs.
