Dr. James Van den Bogaerde
Dr. James Van den Bogaerde is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and advanced orthopedic care. He helps patients improve mobility, manage pain, and return to the activities they enjoy. Dr. Van den Bogaerde trained at UCLA, the University of Chicago, UC Davis, and completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic. With over 20 years of experience, he values patient education and shared decision-making, working with each patient to create the best surgical or non-surgical treatment plan.
Dr. Van den Bogaerde is now accepting patients ages 2 and older—right here at the Rural Health Orthopedic Clinic, full-time!

Treatments We Offer

Many patients go home the same day after surgery because minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques are used whenever possible. Physical Therapy
Successful physical therapy is essential for a full recovery following orthopedic surgery. After your operation, we evaluate your needs and start your recovery straight away. The physical therapy department at Salem Township Hospital is available to assist you in continuing your rehabilitation after being discharged from the hospital. Outpatient physical therapy services are accessible to all patients. The hospital has a full-service swing-bed unit that offers inpatient rehabilitation. To help you reclaim your quality of life, support is provided to assist you in improving as quickly as possible.
Pediatric Services
Dr. Van den Bogaerde treats pediatric fractures and sports related injuries for patients aged two and up.
