Respiratory Therapists
The Respiratory Therapists at Salem Township Hospital are certified by the National Board for Respiratory Care and are available round the clock.
These healthcare professionals offer a variety of treatments and diagnostic tests for patients with lung-related conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis, AIDS, and lung cancer.
The Respiratory Therapists at Salem Township Hospital are trained to care for patients who require critical and emergency care for breathing problems.
Cardiac Diagnostics
The Certified Cardiology Technicians at Salem Township Hospital perform diagnostic procedures such as:
- EKG, Electrocardiogram
- Holter Monitors Walk-Ins available
The device analyzes all heartbeats and provides fast turnaround time. The results are then interpreted by a Cardiologist or Internist. 24-48 hours of monitoring. This monitor is used for Arrhythmia Detection, Syncope, Palpitation, Irregular Heartbeat, Atrial Fibrillation, Bradycardia, Tachycardia, and Med Monitoring. - Long Term Heart Monitoring
Provides up to 14 days of near real time, continuous, uninterrupted monitoring. This monitor is used for Arrhythmia Detection, Syncope, Palpitation, Irregular Heartbeat, Atrial Fibrillation, Bradycardia, Tachycardia, Med Monitoring, and Transient Symptoms. This monitoring is more convenient for patient use. The report is analyzed off site then uploaded for our Cardiologist to interpret similar to Holter Monitor. - Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM)
ABPM can be used by providers to help diagnose high or low blood pressure in cases where the patient has inconsistent BP readings in and out of the provider’s office. The monitor is set up in the Cardiopulmonary Department (a physician/practitioner order is needed) and is worn by the patient for 24 hours. A report is then sent to the provider. - Treadmill Stress Test

Registered Pulmonary Function Technologists perform a wide variety of lung function testing. The results of these tests aide the physician in diagnosing breathing disorders and other diseases, as well as monitoring the effects of medication.

Sleep Diagnostics
- Sleep Study (PSG)
Tracking of brain waves, muscle and eye movements, oxygen saturation, heart rate and airflow in order to diagnose any possible sleep disorder. - CPAP Titration PSG
- Home Sleep Test (HST)
Available for patients whose insurance does not cover in-lab testing, or who are not able to come into the Sleep Lab.
