Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Successful completion of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved respiratory therapy school.
- Successful completion of the National Board of Respiratory Care CRT examination.
- Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner license is recommended.
- A minimum of 1000 hours of clinical or internship in a respiratory therapy program or at least six months, 30 hours per week as a respiratory therapy technician.
- Current in BCLS.
- In addition, ACLS, PALS, NALS and/or basic arrhythmia course(s) are recommended.
- Through knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures and pulmonary critical and emergency care.
- Ability to understand and relay oral and written instructions.
Summary
- Provides respiratory care and diagnostic services per physician orders and departmental policies.
- Assists in maintaining the department and equipment in a functional and orderly condition.
